Putnam Scanner for December 28, 2019

Five people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Friday

• At 6:61 a.m. Garrett M. Smith, 23, Farmersburg, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated-refusal, driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana.

• At 1:23 a.m. Danny W. Hensley, 46, Bainbridge, was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Thursday

• At 9:49 p.m. Jason L. Jones, 40, Greencastle, was housed at the jail on a Marion County warrant.

• At 3:52 a.m. Gerald L. Pinkham, 47, Indianapolis, was booked in on a warrant for burglary.

• At 3:39 p.m. Michael W. Willingham, 35, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a warrant.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 6:34 a.m. on Tuesday, Gabrielle L. Carney, 20, Roachdale, was traveling on County Road 1075 North in dense fog in a 2003 Saturn Vue.

Carney told Deputy Josh Boller she was only traveling about 30 mph in the fog when she hit a patch of ice and slammed on her brakes. This caused her to lose control and flip the vehicle.

While the vehicle suffered extensive damage, Carney was not injured in the crash.

The vehicle was towed. Boller estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to one recent dispatch:

• At 5:09 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Druley House for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 5:13 but could not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm was reset. GFD left at 5:20 a.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed six medical assists.
