Hot meals to be offered at Roachdale beginning Feb. 10

Sunday, December 29, 2019

ROACHDALE -- Starting Monday, Feb. 10 a new program -- Roachdale Congregate Meals -- will offer hot meals every Monday at noon.

The program will take place at the new Roachdale Community and Senior Center, 204 S. Indiana St., in the old TDS building.

Through the efforts of the Putnam County Office of Purdue Extension, WCIEDD (West Central Indiana Economic Development District) and Mid-Land Meals, residents age 60 and over can receive four frozen meals at a noon pick-up as well as a hot lunch at that time.

Residents in Roachdale, Russellville, Bainbridge, Greencastle, Fillmore, North Salem, Jamestown, Ladoga, Crawfordsville and other neighboring areas are invited to take part in the weekly hot lunch and enjoy bingo or play cards on site.

Participants may also use the exercise equipment, watch the new flat-screen television or just hang out before they leave with four frozen meals to enjoy later.

A requested donation of $1.25 is suggested.

Persons must call Debbie Sillery at the Town of Roachdale office (765-522-1532) by Jan. 15 in order to receive meals on Feb. 10.

For all other questions, persons may call the Putnam County Extension Office at 653-8411.
