Mary Lou (Moore) Sheets

Mary Lou (Moore) Sheets, age 91, of Crawfordsville, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020 at Franciscan Health Indianapolis.

She was born in Clarksburg, W. Va. on March 25, 1928 to the late Frank Douglas and Marguerite Virginia (McAtee) Moore.

On Oct. 28, 1948 in Winchester, Va., Mary married Harry Lee Sheets Sr, who preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1996.

She was a loving mother and homemaker and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, the Moose Lodge in Crawfordsville and the Mace United Methodist Church.

Mary enjoyed sewing and crafts, but most of all she loved helping the people at Ben Hur Health and Rehabilitation, where she lived for 15 years.

Mary is survived by a son, Harry Lee (Jo) Sheets Jr.; three daughters, Diana (Roy) Shober, Darlena (Rick) Huffman and Carol Glover; five brothers, Richard, William, Jack, David and Johnny; two sisters, Sharon and Martha; eight grandchildren, April, Heather, Matthew, Shelly, Mark, Matt, Sara and Ryan; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry; son, Jerry; daughter, Connie; and a brother, Frank Jr.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, on Wednesday, Jan. 15 from 5-7 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Whitacre officiating. Burial will follow at Roachdale Cemetery.
