County Jail

Fourteen people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 3:16 p.m. Jason D. Rivers, 41, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a court order.

• At 9:54 a.m. Tyler A. W. Livingston, 23, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail for possession of marijuana.

• At 8:49 a.m. Melonie D. Jones, 45, Cloverdale, was booked in on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 8:47 a.m. Corey L. Duff, 42, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for unlawful possession of a syringe and on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 4:03 a.m. Stephanie N. McCaskey, 47, Indianapolis, was taken into custody for trafficking with an inmate and possession of a controlled substance.

• At 2:27 a.m. Ricky L. Weatherford Jr., 34, English, was housed at the jail for harassment.

• At 1:54 a.m. H. Tom Tomlinson, 41, Fillmore, was booked in for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 1:27 a.m. Nicholas E. Weddell, 38, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

Tuesday

• At 9:14 p.m. Wesley P. Seger, 42, Martinsville, was housed at the jail for possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana and violation of specialized driving privileges.

• At 7:56 p.m. Patrick McFadden Jr., 37, Greencastle, was booked in for unlawful possession of a syringe, driving while intoxicated and on an out-of-state warrant.

• At 7:36 p.m. Tiffany M. Scales, 34, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for unlawful possession of a syringe and possession of marijuana.

• At 7:06 p.m. Brian K. Graham, 42, Indianapolis, was taken into custody for possession of a synthetic cannaboid.

• At 7:04 p.m. Tammy J. Riggen, 38, Plainfield, was housed at the jail for theft and false informing.

• At 8:56 a.m. Demitre L. Ecoffey, 25, Pimento, was booked in for criminal trespass.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 11:19 p.m. Tyler P. Kuras, 29, Russellville, was taken into custody for unlawful possession of a syringe.

Kuras, who was lodged in the Putnam County Jail, was arrested by Officer Elsiana Crosby following a traffic stop on Indianapolis Road at the Walmart entrance.

Four recent traffic citations were issued by city officers.

• At 10:35 p.m. Jan. 18, Jennifer Gibson, 30, Greencastle, was cited for speeding by Officer Luke Brown.

Stopped on State Road 240 near Tennessee Street, Gibson was ticketed for 55 mph in a 40-mph zone.

• At 10:21 p.m. Jan. 17, Chelsie Edwards, 19, Cloverdale, was cited by Officer Brown

Edwards was ticketed for disregarding a stopsign on Walnut Street near Jackson Street.

• At 6:21 p.m. Jan. 16, Shari Rubin, 63, Fillmore, was cited by Capt. Chris Jones.

Stopped on East Washington Street, Rubin was ticketed for operating with an expired license plate (Sept. 28, 2019).

• At 10:41 a.m. Jan. 15, Garrett Porter, 26, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Nick Eastham.

Stopped on Indianapolis Road near Headley Hardware, Porter was cited for operating with an expired license plate (Sept. 14, 2019).

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated two recent property-damage crashes.

• At 6:47 p.m. on Tuesday, Justin L. York, 23, Greencastle, was southbound on County Road 25 West, just south of County Road 300 South, in a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado when he hit a deer.

Deputy Randy Patrick estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

• At 10:10 a.m. on Sunday, Katherine Q. Spencer, 26, Greencastle, was northbound on County Road 75 West in a 2013 Subaru Legacy.

Spencer told Deputy Kyle Lee she apparently dozed off and by the time she realized, it was too late.

The car ran off the road and into the ditch, where it sustained heavy damage.

Spencer was not injured.

The vehicle was towed. Lee estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to three recent dispatches:

• At 6:48 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Phoenix Closures for a two-vehicle accident. Units arrived on the scene at 6:50 and cleaned up fluid from the roadway. GFD went back into service at 7:40 a.m.

• At 9:37 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to 1114 N. U.S. 231 for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:44 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 9:48 a.m.

• At 12:07 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to 418 Anderson St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:11 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 12:15 p.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed seven medical assists and had one disregard.
