Marjorie May Cooper

Marjorie May Cooper, 91, Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020 surrounded by her family.

Born June 21, 1928 in Brazil, she was the daughter of Lawrence E. and Wanda B. (Johnson) Meadows and was a 1946 graduate of Brazil High School.

Marjorie was a secretary at Miller School in Greencastle for 12 years. She had previously been a secretary for attorney Rex Boyd’s office and AT&T (Western Electric) in Indianapolis. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Greencastle.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, H. Lloyd Cooper; children, Scott Cooper, LuAnn (Doug) Bumgardner and Sally (Morris) Coffman; a brother, Robert (Marsha) Meadows; four grandchildren, Matt (Dee) Bumgardner, Craig (Karen) Cooper, Carson (Melissa) Cooper and Angie Kriesel; three great-grandchildren, Kensie and Jacie Bumgardner and Collin Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Wilma Jean Mullinix-Hill and daughter-in-law Margie Cooper.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
