Primary filing deadline is Friday
Candidates wishing to appear on the primary election ballot on Tuesday, May 5 have only until noon on Friday to add their name to the mix.
With the deadline on Friday, the Democrat and Republican ballots will be set for the primary.
Candidate packets are available at the Voter Registration Office on the second floor of the Putnam County Courthouse.
The completed packets must be turned in to the same office.

All county-level offices except for Superior Court judge require registration through the Voter Registration Office. Judicial candidates must register with the Election Division of the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office.
Other county offices on the 2020 primary ballot include auditor, treasurer, coroner, District 1 commissioner, District 3 commissioner and three at-large spots on the Putnam County Council.
Also appearing on the primary ballot at the county level are state convention delegates for both the Republican and Democrat parties, as well as Republican precinct committeemen.
