County Jail

Two people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Monday.

• At 11:21 p.m. Thomas E. Schultheis, 53, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for criminal mischief, resisting law enforcement, intimidation, harassment and battery on law enforcement.

• At 11:53 a.m. Terra N. Cooksey, 35, Greencastle, was booked in for criminal trespass.

City Police

Two recent shoplifting arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police.

• At 4 p.m. Saturday, Melissa Church, 41, Fillmore, was arrested by Officer Darrel Bunten at the Walmart store for theft.

Church reportedly took $76.07 worth of merchandise, including pizza, pop, a Nerf gun and refills, Minnie Mouse ball, bird feed and birthday cards.

Authorities allege Church hid some items in a bag of recycled bags as she used the U-Scan system.

She was taken into custody and lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

• At 5 p.m. Friday, Kysung Tisdale, 19, New Jersey, was arrested at Walmart by Sgt. Ed Wilson.

Authorities allege Tisdale grouped multiple items, scanned one or two and put all of them in his grocery bag.

Items not scanned totaled $32.33, police said.

Among the items taken were three Bert’s Bees lip products, trail mix, Gain dryer sheets and a loofah.

Tisdale was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

One recent citation was issued by city officers.

• At 6:58 p.m. Friday, Madonna Boswell, 32, Coatesville, was ticketed by Officer Alec Pettit.

Stopped on Keightly Road, Boswell was cited for having no operator’s license.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 6:14 a.m. on Tuesday, Anthony J. Gardner, 26, Bicknell, was eastbound on U.S. 36 when he lost control of the 2005 Mazda RX8 he was driving.

Deputy Josh Boller reported the vehicle left the road and hit a guardrail. Gardner told Boller the roadway appeared to be ice covered.

The vehicle was towed. Boller estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to two recent dispatches:

• At 12:36 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 9 E. Larabee St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:37 and were advised that the alarm was activated due to welding. The alarm was reset. GFD left at 12:41 p.m.

• At 1:17 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to 406 S. Indiana St. for a smoke alarm. Firefighters arrived at 1:22 but could not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm was reset. GFD left at 1:26 a.m.

Additionally, GFD performed three recent medical assists.
