County Jail

Seven people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 2:39 p.m. Shane R. Kilgore, 43, Cloverdale, was taken into custody for theft.

• At 2:04 p.m. Brian P. Morris, 22, Terre Haute, was housed at the jail for trafficking with an inmate.

• At 1:56 a.m. Christel R. Hall, 43, Tipton, was booked in for possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 12:40 a.m. Beth A. Thompson, 35, Plainfield, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine.

Tuesday

• At 9:59 p.m. Sondra M. Green, 35, Cloverdale, was taken into custody for driving without ever receiving a license.

• At 7:01 p.m. Kathryn M. Hanson, 38, Fillmore, was housed at the jail for driving with a suspended license with a prior conviction.

• At 6:22 p.m. Shaun A. Miles, 34, Greencastle, was booked in for possession of a controlled substance.

City Police

One recent alcohol-related arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 11:09 p.m. Wednesday, Jeffery A. Everman, 57, Greencastle, was arrested by Sgt. Eric Vaughan on East Washington Street for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Under PBT (portable breathalyzer testing), Evans registered a .195 percent blood-alcohol content.

Lodged at the Putnam County Jail, records there had him also charged with theft.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to three recent dispatches:

• At 10:03 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to 1 E. Olive St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 10:06 and determined that the water flow alarm had malfunctioned. The alarm was reset, and the issue was reported to maintenance. GFD left at 10:19 p.m.

• At 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched again to 1 E. Olive St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:23 and determined that the water flow alarm had again malfunctioned. The alarm was reset. GFD left at 4:37 p.m.

• At 3:29 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 905 S. Locust St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:37 and determined the alarm was due to burnt popcorn. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 3:44 a.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed seven medical assists and assisted a resident with replacing batteries in a smoke detector.
