Second-annual Lip Sync Team Challenge set May 9
Excited with the success of the inaugural event in 2019, the Putnam County Youth Development Commission is now planning the second-annual Lip Sync Team Challenge.
The chief fundraiser for PCYDC, the event is planned for Saturday, May 9 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Community Building.
Ten teams of five members -- one lead and four backups -- each will compete by performing the song of their choice.
RE/MAX Cornerstone won the competition last year and team members will be on hand to hand the traveling trophy off to one of the 10 teams -- Bainbridge Elementary School, Central Elementary School, Bethel Baptist Church, Athletico Physical Therapy, West Central Veterinary Services, Ascena Retail Group, Putnam County law enforcement, Teachers Credit Union, Cummins Behavioral Health Systems and the Putnam County Courthouse.
Besides planning and practicing their routines, the 10 teams will spend the coming months raising funds for PCYDC through sponsorships, ticket sales and other fundraisers.
Ticket sales for the event begin at 8 a.m. on March 16. Tickets are $50 each or $400 for a table of eight. Like its predecessor Dancing with the Putnam County Stars, the event includes dinner.
Sponsorships are available for $3,000 for platinum sponsors, $1,000 for gold sponsors, $500 for silver sponsors and $250 for bronze sponsors.
Concepts the Cabinet Shop is again the title sponsor for the event.
On the night of the event, the top fundraising team will be honored.
Additionally, the winning team in the lip sync competition will be chosen based on votes the night of the event. Each ticket holder receives one ballot. Additional ballots may be purchased on May 9 for $5 each.
The runner-up in the competition will also be honored.
The Putnam County Youth Development Commission enables youths to participate and contribute to their community in positive ways through programs such as CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates), Choices, Coats for Kids, National Night Out, Putnam County Teen Court and school-based Teen Court.
