Millard Joseph Cox, 86, Brazil, passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Knightsville on Feb. 28, 1933 to the late Walter and Naoma (Jones) Cox.

Millard attended Van Buren High School and earned his associate’s degree from IUPUI.

He worked as an electrician for Lonestar Cement for many years.

Millard married Nancy Cope on Feb. 27, 1953. They are members of the Lena United Methodist Church. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and looking for mushrooms.

Millard also enjoyed bowling and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Cox, and sister Rosella Cox Stearley.

Survivors include wife Nancy Cope Cox; daughters Dawn (Butch) Johnston, Julie (Mike) Pell, Candy (AJ) Thompson and Nora (George) Crowder; grandchildren Brad (Sherrie) Killion, Adam (Jessica) Price, Missy (Mark) Schultz, Dustin (Meghan) Pell, Karen (Derek) Duvall, David (Lori) Niewald, BJ (Jayme) Frazee, Jacob (Rebecca) Kirby, Shandra (Eric) Walker and Eli (Trinity) Kirby; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Millard’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 29 at the Lena United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Intrepid Hospice of Terre Haute.

Moore Funeral Home was entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
