Rebecca Lynn Rogers, 64, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Rebecca was born in Bamberg, S.C., on May 29, 1955, the daughter of Charles “Charlie” and Hattie Daythel (Thompson) Poe.

She and was a 1973 graduate of Greencastle High School. She received her associates degree in administration from Vincennes University.

Becca was a member of American Legion Post 58, Elks Lodge 1077 and the VFW of Greencastle. She loved NASCAR and followed Mark Martin until he retired, then Jimmy Johnson. She enjoyed taking pictures, crocheting, and loved the beach.

Becca lived for the last four years with her husband Michael in Sarasota, Fla., and spent much of her time at Siesta Key Beach. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband of more than 10 years, Michael Rogers; four children, Jonas Vance (Nicole) of Heritage Lake, Christina “Tina” Vance-Bell (Jeff) of Avon, Krystal Rogers-Hood (Tim) of Greencastle and Michael Vance of Greencastle; brother Bruce Poe of Cloverdale; mother-in-law Georgia Craig; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a very close cousin, Jon Rice; and several other cousins and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Micky Vance; special aunts and uncles, Haskel and Maybell Rice and Helen Godfrey.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, and one hour prior to time of service on Saturday.
