HERITAGE LAKE — A Texas man was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly intentionally driving onto Heritage Lake property and running over multiple items.

Described as “heavily intoxicated” at the time of the incident, 48-year-old Dan A. Grissom Jr. of Blanco, Texas, was formally charged Monday with Class B misdemeanor criminal mischief, Class B misdemeanor disorderly conduct, Class C misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

Putnam County sheriff’s Deputy Jeffery Freeman was called to the Heritage Lake Property Owner’s Assocation property at 1000 Clubhouse Dr. at 3 a.m., finding that Grissom, driving a 1997 Dodge Ram pickup, had struck a 12-foot fence several times as well as driving through the grass and landscaping. The truck also struck a large metal trash can, a large bicycle rack and a tree.

Grissom finally came to a halt when the truck got stuck in the mud.

Freeman estimated that $5,000-$10,000 in damage was sustained.

The deputy found Grissom to be heavily intoxicated and initially charged him with nine crimes, including driving while intoxicated-refusal, refusal to identify, criminal mischief, criminal trespass, resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct, intimidation of law enforcement, public intoxication and leaving the scene of a property-damage accident.

Grissom was taken to Putnam County Hospital for evaluation of injuries that included multple facial injuries visible in his mug shot.

He was then taken to the Putnam County Jail and booked in at 6 a.m.
