Siren testing set for Wednesday morning

Monday, March 16, 2020

On Wednesday, March 18 severe weather sirens will be tested in observance of Severe Weather Preparedness Week.

The sirens will be activated between 10 and 10:30 a.m. countywide. Residents will probably receive a text message from the National Weather Service.

The test will be postponed if impending weather is in the area.

Capt. Russ Evans, public information officer for Putnam County EMA/CERT, reminds all citizens that Severe Weather Preparedness Week is an excellent time to sit down as a family and discuss preparation and plans for severe weather.
