Roachdale Library closing until March 30

Tuesday, March 17, 2020

ROACHDALE -- As of March 18, due to the COVID-19 virus, the Roachdale Public Library will be closed.

The library has received recommendations from its governing bodies to close in order to comply with CDC, federal and state regulations.

“Our hope is that we will reopen on Monday, March 30,” Roachdale-Franklin Township Board of Trustees and Director Jennifer Stranger said. “We will be taking into consideration the recommendations from the same governing bodies. We will place notice on site, on Facebook, and in the Banner Graphic if that date gets pushed further.”

All materials checked out will be extended until the library reopens, and no overdue fees will be accumulated. Persons may continue to put materials in the drop box. Patrons are encouraged to use OverDrive (the Libby App) for your digital materials.

The library director will be available Wednesday, March 18 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. to assist by phone or e-mail if you need help with digital services. After that time, staff will continue to monitor messages: e-mail (roachdalepl@tds.net) or Facebook Messenger (Roachdale Public Library) is the most effective way to reach us, as these will be checked several times a day.

“We apologize for any disruption to services,” Stranger said. “Please stay safe and healthy.”
