Bonnie L. Callahan

Bonnie L. Callahan, 69 of Reelsville, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Cloverleaf Healthcare. She is resting in God’s Hands now.

Bonnie had been battling liver disease for more than seven years and aggressively for the past 18 months.

She was born Sept. 18, 1950 in Greencastle, the daughter of William Brown and Barbara Ann Sears Brown.

She graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in elementary education. Bonnie worked for a time at Cornerstone Christian Academy and at Jackson Township Elementary School. She loved teaching and being with the grandchildren.

On Aug. 21, 1970 she was united in marriage to David C. Callahan. In the past, they attended Eastside Christian Church together. She enjoyed singing in the Community Choir in Brazil and had the ability to play the hand bells.

She and David were in the Wednesday evening bowling league in Brazilian Lanes.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William Brown.

Survivors include her devoted husband David, their children, Ryan D. Callahan and wife Cherish, Troye C. Callahan and Ginger and Shauna L. Crawley and Troy; grandchildren Logan, Henry, Calvin, Marlena, Skyler and Cory; sisters Peggy McCullough (David), Janet Rumple (Harold) and Shirley Roahrig (Dale); and one sister-in-law, Debbie Brown.

Due to the directive set by the Governor of Indiana, the funeral service will be held for family only on Thursday, March 24 at 11 a.m. at the Lawson-Miller Chapel with Pastor Bill Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
