Hendricks Power, Parke County REMC support Rapid Relief Fund

Friday, April 3, 2020

In response to those impacted by COVID-19 within the community, Hendricks Power Cooperative and Parke County REMC have announced their partnership with the Putnam County Community Foundation in support of the Putnam County Rapid Relief Fund.

The fund will support local nonprofits, charities and agencies serving community members affected by the virus.

The fund was launched with a $50,000 donation from the Putnam County Community Foundation, along with $2,500 each from Hendricks Power Cooperative and Parke County REMC.

The Foundation is also seeking donations from other organizations and individuals to support the fund and is currently accepting grant applications from local organizations to benefit residents affected by the current challenges.

“We are pleased to partner with Parke County REMC and the Putnam County Community Foundation,” said Dana Cochran, director of marketing and member engagement at Hendricks Power. “Electric cooperatives are doing as much as we can to provide reliable service and flexible payment options, but we also know there are greater immediate needs during this time.”

“During this time of uncertainty, Parke County REMC wants to support our friends and neighbors,” Marketing and Communications Manager Carolyn Kilby said. “The Putnam County Community Foundation has such an essential role within our community, and we are pleased to support their efforts to provide relief in this manner.”

Organizations interested in applying for a grant from the Rapid Relief Fund may submit requests online at https://bit.ly/2WMXGRX.
