William ‘Joe’ Joseph App

William “Joe” Joseph App, 82, of Greencastle, passed away on April 8, 2020 at Putnam County Hospital.

William was born in Mooresville on Oct. 15, 1937, the son of Kenneth Benjamin and Margaret Evelyn (Collier) App, and graduated high school in Indiana.

Mr. App worked for many years as a journeyman iron worker. He worked in Indianapolis and Terre Haute, and was a member of Iron Workers Local #22 for 30 years.

He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion, a Master Mason, Past Lodge Master, a lifetime member of the Eagles and a former Shriner.

Joe owned and operated Bainbridge Tap for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Margie App; four children, Bill App (wife Vickie), Teresa App, Jeffrey Powers (wife Julie) and DeeLinda Arbuckle (husband Chris); a brother, John App; two sisters, Sandra Brock (husband Fred) and Janet Draper; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Nicholas App and Kevin Powers; two brothers, Edwin and Escar App; and two sisters, Lana Beck and Sharon Ensor.

The family will plan a memorial service at a later date.
