Patching Time

Wabash Valley Asphalt Inc. workers patch the southbound lane of U.S. 231 through Greencastle as part of a $5 million project patch and resurface project in Putnam and Clay counties. The contractor has been undertaking overnight patching work on U.S. 231 through Greencastle between the hours of 7:30 p.m. until 6 a.m., weather permitting. The contractor will then begin resurfacing the area on U.S 40 from the east city limits of Brazil through Knightsville and Harmony. Construction is due to be completed by June 20.

  • If this is the same company that came out to my road in Reelsville, they need to finish what they started. My road really wasn't in need of repairs, and one day I come home to random AWFUL patch work done all the way down it. They got into our yards, and patched areas that weren't even broken up. Now the road looks like a huge mess, and months later, it's still not been fixed. A company even came down a couple weeks ago to ditch both sides of the road, making it look even worse.

  • momof2: If you live on a county road, it was the County Highway Department who messed up your yard and road. They dig ditches expecting them to flow uphill and their "patches" fall apart within a couple weeks. These guys just do what they're told. New leadership is badly needed.
