On March 25, the Indiana Election Commission, on a recommendation by Governor Eric Holcomb and Secretary of State Connie Lawson, voted to allow all Indiana voters the option to vote by mail in the upcoming June 2 primary.

Additionally, the new deadline to register to vote has been changed to May 4. To register to vote or to check their voting status, citizens may visit: https://www.indianavoters.in.gov/.

Any Putnam County voter who is registered to vote may do so by requesting an application for an absentee ballot by calling the Putnam County Voter Registration office at 655-1538, emailing the office at voterregistration.putnam@airhop.com or downloading the application (ABS-MAIL) at https://www.in.gov/sos/elections/2402.htm.

Once completed, this application can be mailed to Putnam County Voter Registration Office, P.O. Box 546, Greencastle, IN 46135 or emailing it to voterregistration.putnam@airhop.com.

The deadline to turn in the application for an absentee ballot is May 21 at 11:59 p.m.
