Lola Mae Littrell Cross Carter

Lola Mae Littrell Cross Carter, 90, of Cloverdale, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at home.

She was born in New Castle on Aug. 29, 1929 to Lawrence Littrell and Susan Elizabeth Pierce Littrell.

Lola married Stanley Carter on June 9, 1963, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 14th, 2016.

Lola was a member of the Amity Baptist Church, and she retired from Mallory’s to be a stay-at-home mother and housewife. She loved spending time with her family, that was her greatest joy. She was a good cook, and she was known for baking her famous pies.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Ronald (Terri) Cross of Greencastle, Michael (Liz) Cross of Knightstown and Jannetta Carter Wolfe of Cloverdale; grandchildren Krystal (Ted) Baker, Blake (Shelby) Cross and Bobi (Josh) Brancamp; great-grandchildren Brystal Robertson and Hudson Baker, Landon, Alexander and Riley Brancamp and Alivia Cross; her sisters, Ruth Norman, Marie Cross, Kay Sauer, Linda Sutherland and Rita Paitson; brothers-in-law William Paitson and Leon Sims; sister-in-law Eileen Carter; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Gladys Kruse, Edna Sims and Mary Constantino and brothers Leroy Littrell and Lawrence Littrell.

Funeral Services will be family only due to the coronavirus on Saturday, April 18 at 1 p.m. with burial following in the Cloverdale Cemetery. Services will be webcast through Facebook Live.
