County Jail

Three people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Thursday

• At 2:47 a.m. Joseph C. Aton, 28, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for domestic battery.

Wednesday

• At 1:04 p.m. William A. Grogan, 43, Greencastle, was taken into custody for violation of Community Corrections.

Monday

• At 5:39 p.m. Alisha M. Kimes, 42, Fillmore, was booked in for criminal recklessness and intimidation.

City Police

One alcohol-related arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 4:57 a.m. Wednesday, Amanda Davidson, 46, Greencastle, was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, criminal recklessness and leaving the scene of a property-damage accident.

Results of a chemical test administered at Putnam County Hospital showed Davidson with a blood-alcohol content figure of .25 percent, more than three times the legal limit.

Davidson was arrested in the Greencastle High School parking lot by Officer Zach Rhine. She was taken to the hospital with a bloody lip following the accident.

Police were advised of a possible impaired driver at 1:01 a.m. after a resident walking his dog was almost struck by the Davidson vehicle, a 1996 GMC Astrovan.

Police said Davidson’s vehicle struck two mailboxes, owned by Jeremy Voege and Larry Dickerson, on Avenue D, along with a 2010 Ford owned by Barbara Rader.

No damage estimates were available.

Meanwhile, two other persons received summonses into court for possession of marijuana.

• At 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Layne Lucas, 20, Coatesville, was stopped by Officer Jared McDaniel and cited for possession of marijuana.

• At 10:34 p.m. Saturday, Patricia Perry, 31, Greencastle, was stopped by Officer Luke Brown at Indianapolis Road and Judson Drive.

Police responded to a report of an erratic driver and cited Perry for an infraction of driving with a suspended license as well as the summons for possession of marijuana.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to three recent dispatches:

• At 6:56 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to Opportunity Housing for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:02 p.m. and determined the alarm was due to a dirty detector head. The head was cleaned and the alarm was reset. GFD left at 7:40 p.m.

• At 7:16 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 733 Ravenwood Dr. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:20 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 7:27 p.m.

• At 7:59 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 301 E. Seminary St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:02 p.m. and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was reset by DePauw University police. GFD left at 8:07 p.m.

Additionally, GFD performed one medical assist after these dispatches.
