Building Community

Sunday, May 10, 2020
With business still good at Headley Hardware in spite of COVID-19 and the associated economic downturn, Headley owner Randall Jones makes a donation of $2,000 — with $1,000 each going to the Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry and Beyond Homeless Inc. Accepting the check from Jones are (from left) Jean Baker and Barb Rice of the Food Pantry and Lea Durbin of Beyond Homeless. “We’re setting a record every day,” Jones said, “so I wanted to give back.” The Putnam County Food Pantry, located at 309 E. Franklin St., would like to remind the community that it is open from 9 a.m.-noon each Monday and Tuesday. Also located at 309 E. Franklin St., Beyond Homeless also continues to serve those in need during this time. While the shelter itself is open only to women and children, Beyond Homeless also has resources available to men experiencing homelessness.
