Greencastle Farmers Market to open Saturday

Wednesday, May 27, 2020

The Greencastle Farmers Market is set to open this Saturday, May 30, from 8 a.m.-noon.

“We are excited to have so many vendors back to share their food, crafts and art with the community,” Putnam County Chamber Executive Director Brian Cox said. “We also have many new vendors coming to the market this season.

“I have always felt that the Farmers Market was one of the greatest symbols of a community coming together,” Cox added. “This year will be no different in that respect.”

Where it will be a little different is organizers are asking that shoppers wear a mask when they come to the market. There will be masks on hand for anyone who forgets.

There will also be stations at both ends of the market for shoppers to use hand sanitizer as they enter and leave the market.

Additionally, the Farmers Market has added distancing to booths and marking on the pavement where shoppers should wait their turn at a booth.

“The vendors have worked very hard to bring you some great products and we want to encourage you to come out and support them every Saturday from May 30 through Oct. 3 from 8 a.m.-noon on the Putnam County Courthouse square,” Cox said. “The market is a great example of buying local and supporting your neighbor.”
