Community Shred Event set June 13 at fairgrounds

Thursday, May 28, 2020

Confidential document destruction and paper recycling will be available when the Putnam County Board of Realtors hosts a Community Shred Event.

This public service is scheduled for Saturday, June 13 from 9-11 a.m. at the Putnam County Fairgrounds, U.S. 231 North, Greencastle, and is offered free thanks to a sponsorship by Abstract & Title of Putnam County.

Persons may bring any papers they want securely destroyed -- tax returns, bank statements, credit cards, etc. Paper clips, small binder clips and staples can be left in place. However, papers should be removed from plastic binders.

The shredding is done on-site and all shredded paper is then recycled.

The process works like this: Simply drive up and your items will be unloaded by volunteers. The public will be asked to remain in their vehicles to maintain social distancing and facilitate safe traffic flow.

Donations to the Putnam County Board of Realtors Scholarship Fund will be accepted at time of service.

Businesses are welcome to attend, with a 10-box maximum and a $5 per box donation.

Persons may call 720-2091 for more information.
