Brown promoted to PCSD sergeant
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Merit Board on Thursday approved the promotion of Deputy Anthony Brown to squad leader with a the rank of sergeant.
This was a competitive process incorporating several components including education, longevity, performance evaluations and a formal interview of standardized questions.
Each component has a numerical score. Brown was number one in the final tally.
The merit board meeting was conducted with board member Mike Dean in person other merit board members via teleconferencing.
Sgt. Brown will serve a one-year probationary status until his permanent appointment one year from now.
Brown also serves in the U.S. Army reserve and is anticipating the appointment of sergeant major. He has served for 17 years in the Army.
