Jonker - 50th anniversary

Thursday, June 4, 2020

Congratulations to Thomas and Janet (Stubblefield) Jonker on their 50th wedding anniversary.

Tom and Jan met and fell in love while attending Fort Wayne Bible College, now Taylor University. They were united in marriage at Hazelwood Baptist in Hazelwood on June 13, 1970.

After Tom finished serving in the U.S. Army in Germany, the couple settled in Poland where they had two girls, Kristi (Jonker) Calkins and Kimberly (Jonker) Locke.

Tom was the pastor at Cataract Baptist Church, taught at Cloverdale Elementary and drove a Cloverdale school bus. Jan raised their girls and then taught at Eminence and later North Putnam Schools. In the early ‘90s they moved to Coatesville, where they continued raising their family, teaching students to love learning and serving the Lord. Tom taught for 30 years and Jan taught for 33 years before retiring.

They now enjoy the blessings of two sons-in-law, Chris Calkins and Peter Locke, and eight grandchildren. Annalisa, Ethan and Michaela Calkins live in Ohio, while Christopher, Karis, Katherine, Lily and Linnea Locke live Michigan.

Congratulations to 50 wonderful years of life together.
