Putnam County and local communities are eligible for to cover COVID-19-related expenses through the federal stimulus package, according to State Rep. Beau Baird (R-Greencastle).

Indiana allocated $300 million in federal funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economics Security Act to counties and communities for reimbursement of expenditures related to the pandemic. The funding, allocated based on population, cannot be used to replace lost tax revenue.

“Our communities have responded swiftly and effectively to counter this virus,” Baird said. “It has required expenditures local officials didn’t budget for, but this funding should help cover some of these costs as we all continue our daily lives with safety top of mind.”

Putnam County is eligible for $1,225,693 in reimbursement funding. In addition, the following communities are also eligible to receive the following amounts:

• Bainbridge $24,267;

• Cloverdale $68,521;

• Fillmore $17,292;

• Greencastle $341,633;

• Roachdale $28,874; and

• Russellville $11,452.

The Indiana Finance Authority is in charge of implementing guidelines on how each county, city and town can use the funding, as well as compiling reimbursement requests through accepted documentation including invoices. Visit in.gov/ifa for more information.

    RSOTS -

    Sorry I am a bit later than you expected. I do have a life outside of trying to fight for responsible government.

    Apparently you have no problem with unconstitutional and just plain stupid spending...

    $23 TRILLION in debt isn't enough for you?

    Debt is slavery.

    But hey, it makes you feel good about yourself, right? Who cares about the Constitution... its just an old document, out-dated and irrelevant, huh?

    DPR,

    I didn't say I was for or against it. I was just rushing to get the stage ready, your microphone on and your step stool set up behind the podium for you.

    Your actions speak quite loudly...

    You didn't yourself address the issue, but instead made a snarky comment about my imminent $.02 on an issue that should concern each and every one of us.

    Then when called out, instead of taking a stand you spew yet another snarky comment.

    Its what you do. Proverbs 26:11.

    LOL - You cant even come up with your own thoughts if it's not something snarky?

    The best you can do is simply play elementary school games.

    Sad, RSOTS. Just sad.
