Child missing near Big Walnut Creek found safely

BARNARD -- A four-year-old who went missing in Jackson Township near Big Walnut Creek was found safely around midday Tuesday.

The search centered on the area where County Road 800 East crosses the creek south of Barnard.

Multiple emergency departments, along with family members and neighbors searched the area for the child, hoping he had not gotten into the waters of the creek.

In the end the boy was found safely, away from the water.

Responding agencies included the Roachdale Fire Department, PMH Ambulance, Putnam County EMS, Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, Roachdale Police Department, Bainbridge Police Department, Indiana Conservation Officers and Putnam County CERT.
