Joseph ‘Joe’ Ernest Wheeler

Joseph “Joe” Ernest Wheeler, 80, of Roachdale, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2020.

He was born on Jan. 4, 1940 to the late Ernest Wheeler and Leottia (Faulkner) Wheeler in Brownsburg.

He married Linda (Lynch) Wheeler in Noblesville on Dec. 13, 1957, she preceded him in death on July 19, 2011.

Joe graduated from Brownsburg High School with the class of 1958. He worked for and retired from Allison’s after 32 years. He then worked for the Indiana Highway Department for 10 years and did some farming.

He enjoyed traveling, farming, gardening, camping, watching movies and his grandchildren. He was a member of the Freemasons and Groveland Lodge.

He is survived by his five children, Tony (Becky), Bryan (Sherry), Chris (Susan), Tracy (Karen) and Carla (Shane); 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; siblings Barbara Pittman and Beatrice Kohler; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and siblings Betty and Beverly.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 10 at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale, with Bruce Hale officiating. Burial will follow in New Maysville Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 a.m. until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.

Social distancing is expected to be followed and masks are suggested.
