GCSC board to discuss reopening

Monday, July 13, 2020

Jeff Gibboney’s first school board meeting as Greencastle Community Schools superintendent promises to be a big one.

With COVID-19 questions looming large over the coming school year, the first board meeting of Gibboney’s tenure is set Wednesday to discuss the school reopening plan.

The plan is the only business item on the agenda for the 6 p.m. special meeting scheduled for Parker Auditorium in McAnally Center on the Greencastle High School campus.

The meeting was relocated to Parker because a large turnout is anticipated.

The meeting will also be the first for new school board member Ed Wilson, appointed to his post just last month.

The board also canceled a previously-scheduled executive session prior to the meeting.

UPDATE: GCSC made a draft of the reopening plan available on its website Tuesday morning.
