Chiyoda U.S.A. honored by Subara of Indiana Automotive

Chiyoda U.S.A. Corp. was one of more than 20 suppliers honored recently by Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) for exceptional performance over the past year.

The Greencastle manufacturing facility was honored with a Special Recognition Award – Pursuit of Excellence.

Suppliers granted a Special Recognition Award were recognized as having given an “above and beyond effort as identified by SIA Management.

“Our success relies on a network of suppliers that provide us quality parts in a safe and timely manner,” said Scott Brand, executive vice president at SIA. “These companies represent an incredible commitment to helping Subaru efficiently manufacture high-quality vehicles for our customers.

“We have nearly 260 suppliers,” Brand added. “These award winners are elite among their peers and have continually demonstrated a commitment to excellence.”

Chiyoda is considered a Tier I supplier to SIA.

SIA is Subaru’s only manufacturing outside Asia and currently makes the Ascent, Impreza, Legacy and Outback models for North America. Since beginning production in 1989, the plant has increased its annual output of vehicles from 67,000 to approximately 370,000.
