PUTNAMVILLE - - Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) Commissioner Rob Carter has announced the recent appointment of Dushan Zatecky as warden at the Putnamville Correctional Facility.

The appointment was effective on July 13.

As a veteran corrections professional, Warden Zatecky has extensive knowledge in every aspect of corrections. He began his IDOC career at the Plainfield Correctional Facility in 1991 where he served as a correctional officer.

Over the following 14 years he advanced through the ranks, ultimately serving as the acting major at Plainfield until being permanently promoted to major and transferring to the Pendleton Correctional Facility. Zatecky remained at Pendleton until his transfer to serve as a unit team manager at the Putnamville Correctional Facility.

In March 2011 Zatecky was promoted to assistant superintendent at the Reception Diagnostic Center, located in Plainfield. This was followed by his February 2013 promotion to warden at the Pendleton Correctional Facility where he continued to serve until his July 2020 transfer to serve as warden at the Putnamville Correctional Facility.

“Warden Zatecky has been a valued and trusted member of the Department of Correction team,” Commissioner Carter said. “I appreciate his dedication to our profession and the leadership he has provided over the course of his distinguished career.”

Warden Zatecky holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical and industrial engineering.
