Avery Hopkins, 93, of Roachdale, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020.

He was a lifelong grain and livestock farmer.

He was born Jan. 1, 1927 in Morocco, Ind., to the late Pfrimmer Hopkins and Dewana Herron Hopkins.

His wife of 64 years, Marjorie Camblin Hopkins, whom he married June 6, 1948 at the Portland Mills Christian Church, passed away Sept. 21, 2012.

Survivors include three sons, Terry D. Hopkins of Roachdale, Trent (Pam) Hopkins of Indianapolis and Todd (Sandy) Hopkins of Russellville; one daughter, Brenda Holscher of Crawfordsville; one sister, Genevee Broshar of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren, Tanell (Ryan) Spears, Treg Hopkins, Angel (Justin) Maschino, Holly (Rob) Hons, Daniel Jensen, Benita (Brian) Barger, Sarah (Ryan) Miller and Holly (Evan) Eggersman; seven great-grandchildren, Kambri Stoffer, Ben Spears, Audrey Spears, Jude Hons, Hayden Maschino, Hank Maschino and Clayton Avery Miller.

He was a 1945 graduate of Greene Township School. He enjoyed tinkering with tractors and visiting many friends.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, at Portland Mills Cemetery, with Mick Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow.
