County Jail

Ten people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 11:26 p.m. Michael M. Artimovich, 59, Plainfield, was lodged at the jail on a Marion County warrant.

• At 2:38 p.m. Frank D. Saathoff, 35, Brazil, was taken into custody on a warrant for possession of methamphetamine.

• At 2:36 p.m. Susan M. Burrows, 38, Brazil, was housed at the jail on a warrant for driving with a suspended license.

• At 1:43 p.m. David L. Brown, 37, Lansing, Mich., was booked in for possession of methamphetamine, resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 11:19 a.m. Crystal L. Stahl, 42, Lansing, Mich., was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

Saturday

• At 5:03 a.m. Misty D. New, 34, Ladoga, was taken into custody on a warrant for unlawful possession of a syringe.

• At midnight, Daniel J. R. McHenry, 26, Fernwood, Idaho, was housed at the jail for driving with a BAC of .08 or more and possession of marijuana.

Friday

• At 10:14 p.m. Angela D. Hargis, 51, Cloverdale, was booked in for battery and disorderly conduct.

• At 5:13 p.m. Ronald L. Ingalls, 48, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

Thursday

• At 5:48 p.m. Heather L. Mannix, 38, Poland, was housed at the jail on a Marion County warrant.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 1:37 a.m. Friday, Miranda Jo McNew, 31, Indianapolis, was arrested by Sgt. Charles Inman after a traffic stop on Bloomington Street near Veterans Memorial Highway.

Taken into custody on a warrant for driving while suspended, McNew was also charged with possession of a legend drug and possession of marijuana. She was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

One recent citation was issued by city officers.

• At 12:19 a.m. on Aug. 8, Jarrick Hayden, Spencer, was stopped by Officer Zach Rhine on South Jackson Street near Hanna Street.

Hayden was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to four recent dispatches:

• At 9:31 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to Putnam County Hospital for a smoke scare. Firefighters arrived at 9:36, and a smell of smoke quickly dissipated. GFD checked HVAC systems before maintenance arrived. GFD went back into service at 10:23 p.m.

• At 12:18 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Roy O. West Library for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:22 and determined that a detector head in a storage area was dirty. The detector head was cleaned, and GFD went back into service at 12:53 p.m.

• At 4:26 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Sigma Alpha Epsilon for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:28 and determined the alarm was due to cleaning in the basement. The detector head was cleaned, and the alarm was reset. GFD left at 4:33 p.m.

• At 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to 17 Sunset Dr. for a smoke odor. Firefighters arrived at 2:46 and found that smoke had drifted into the home. The property was checked, then GFD went back into service soon after its arrival.

Additionally, GFD recently performed 11 medical assists.
