West Central urges residents, don’t bag recyclables

The West Central Solid Waste District is now requesting residents to empty their recyclables into their bins.

The reason is so that space might be maximized when disposing of them.

  • When the bins are filled above the door openings, which they usually are, one cannot dump the stuff out of the bags without it rolling out on to the ground.

  • Agreed. I have to follow the truck and hurry up and empty my bags before the fresh bin fills up. It’s rare to find empty space in the Cloverdale bin.

  • Does anybody know if the Columbia Street trash site in Greencastle ever plans to start taking recycling again?

    Where in the Greencastle area can one take recycling if you don’t live in the city limits?

  • Jack's takes recyclables free if you are a customer but charges a fee for non-customers.
