Greencastle Parks Dept. announces slate of fall programs

Monday, August 31, 2020

The Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department has many programs coming up in the next few months.

Through September, yoga in the park is scheduled every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m. The classes are led by Colleen McCracken and Gigi Jennewein and are by donation. Any donation amount will help fund park programs.

Persons can connect with the park on Facebook under Greencastle Parks and Recreation or under Yoga in Putnam County Indiana.

A few programs coming up will help keep kids busy as well. On Sept. 15 and 17 from 4-6 p.m. the park will have a build your own toolbox workshop. This program is designed for multiple skill levels and can be altered to the skill level of your child. Each child will be able to take home its toolbox creation. Day 1 will be constructing a toolbox and day 2 will be decorating the toolbox.

Also, on Sept. 30 a gingerbread building workshop is set from 5:30-7 p.m. Assistant Director Chrysta Snellenberger will be teaching youngsters how to build their own gingerbread house for the opportunity to enter the Dracula’s Lair challenge at the Oct. 1 Park Board meeting. Those who leave their gingerbread house for entry will have a chance to win a prize.

Along with your gingerbread house you may also build your own version of Dracula’s Lair out of Legos for the contest.

Sign up for all park programs on the website greencastleparks.com under the programs tab.
