Monday, August 31, 2020

RUSSELVILLE — Amid ongoing concerns over COVID-19, the Russellville Community Center has canceled two more big events set for later in 2020.

Having already canceled the Russellville Round-Up for 2020, the Community Center will also not conduct its annual Halloween social, nor the 2020 Community Christmas Cantata.

The Community Center Board plans to get back on track in 2021.

  • Phelpsfamilyfarm - Apparently they understand statistics better than you do and believe the science.

  • Actually, Unbiased, they believe in fear. Here are the statistics: 1% of American's have died from Covid-19....If we are going to go off of those kind of statistics, they should close all of the roadways, so no car accidents will occur. That is just silly. This entire situation is way out of control! And it is all based on fear!!

  • I am also getting sick of all the enjoyment being taken out of life. What’s the point of living if we just stay locked in our houses? It’s time to push back against this.

  • Unbiased- I am not saying you are wrong but do wonder if your approach will be the same if a certain candidate wins the white house in november.

  • We are still going to be walking around with masks on until someone creates a vaccine to cure it. Don't hold your breath. This crap has been going on since March and I don't see where they have made any progress.

    Queen53 - vaccines don't cure anything.

Vaccines are designed to prevent one from contracting a virus.

However, vaccines are not fool-proof and there are lots of variables to calculate.

    Sometimes they don't work.

Sometimes they work the wrong way. There is currently an outbreak of Polio in Africa due to Polio vaccinations, not "wild" virus.

Wear a mask, don't wear a mask... the world will still turn.

I am sorry to hear that these events will be cancelled.
