TERRE HAUTE — A Greencastle man suffered serious injury in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash early Saturday morning.

Mark D. Harlan of Greencastle suffered a head injury when he wrecked his motorcycle in Terre Haute, WTWO/WAWV reported Monday.

Terre Haute Police reported the crash occurred at 2:38 a.m. Saturday when Harlan was westbound on Crawford Street, approaching the intersection at South 13th Street.

Witnesses said the traffic light turned yellow and Harlan sped up to “beat the light.”

However, as he crossed the intersection, Harlan hit a bump and his motorcycle went airborne.

When the bike hit the pavement, Harlan was thrown off. He then hit the curb on the north side of Crawford Street and came to rest east of the railroad tracks at South 12th Street.

WTWO/WAWV did not have an update on his condition as of Monday afternoon.
