County Jail

Eight people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 10:57 p.m. Candice J. Lumpkin, 38, Coatesville, was lodged at the jail for criminal trespass.

• At 9:21 p.m. Jacob D. Cherry, 29, Greencastle, was booked in for driving while intoxicated.

• At 9:20 p.m. Robert L. Washburn, 40, Crawfordsville, was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe and resisting law enforcement.

• At 4:30 p.m. Alice M. Payne, 56, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail for dealing in methamphetamine.

• At 3:24 p.m. Tabitha J. Blake, 37, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for domestic battery.

• At 12:50 p.m. Jennifer D. Ziemendorf, 41, Brazil, was taken into custody for carrying a handgun without a license.

• At 12:41 p.m. Taylor N. Okulovich, 22, Brazil, was housed at the jail on an out-of-county warrant.

• At noon, Dylan G. L. Mowery, 23, Brazil, was booked in for auto theft.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to five recent dispatches:

• At 5:27 p.m. last Thursday, GFD was alerted to a tree in the roadway located at 1960 E. CR. 100 East. Units found the tree at 5:32 and removed it from the road. GFD went back into service at 6:06 p.m.

• At 8:12 p.m. last Thursday, GFD was dispatched to Ivy Tech Greencastle for an odor investigation. Firefighters arrived at 8:17 and found someone had freed themselves from an elevator that had a smoking smell. No cause for the smell was determined. GFD went back into service at 8:50 p.m.

• At 3:11 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to International Automotive Components for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:17 and were advised that a water flow alarm had been activated unintentionally. GFD went back into service at 3:28 p.m.

• At 4:02 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to The Waters of Greencastle for an odor investigation. Firefighters arrived at 4:06 and were advised of a burning smell in a hallway. GFD monitored the building, but did not find a cause for the odor. Maintenance arrived, and GFD went back into service at 4:46 a.m.

• At 1:29 a.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to Phi Gamma Delta for an odor investigation. Firefighters arrived at 1:31 and monitored the property, but could not determine a source for the odor. GFD left at 1:40 a.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed three medical assists and had three disregards.
