James ‘Jim’ Robbins

James “Jim” Robbins, 86, of Roachdale, passed away Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020 surrounded by his family.

He was born on Oct. 30, 1933 in Roachdale, to the late Lodelle and Alma (Gilmore) Robbins.

On Jan. 19, 1952 he married Julia Jean (Coffman) Robbins. She preceded him in death Feb. 20, 2002.

Jim graduated high school in 1951. He then began farming which was his love and passion until he retired in 1998.

He thoroughly enjoyed his Case IH tractors, especially his 1951 Model M.

He also enjoyed NASCAR and Indy 500 races.

He was a member of Roachdale Christian Church.

He is survived by his two daughters, Barbara (Michael) Schlagel, North Salem, and Cindy (John) Bennett, Crawfordsville; three grandchildren, Anthony (Melissa) Bennett, Andrea (Darryl) McArthur and Michele (Michael) Hammar, and six great-grandchildren, Melanie, Connor, Briley, Hunter, Hadley and Madelynn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at Roachdale Cemetery with Pastor Craig Carrell officiating.

Memorials in Jim’s memory may be made to PMH Ambulance Service in Roachdale.
