Don Keith Jeffries

Don Keith Jeffries, 77, of Roachdale, passed away Monday, Sept. 21, 2020.

Don was born in Roachdale to the late Earl Wayne and Florence Ellen (Thomas) Jeffries.

He grew up in Putnam County on the family farm, and graduated from Bainbridge High School with the class of 1960.

Don married Donna Lee Barker on Sept. 23, 1961, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 2012. He married Kaye (Harlan) Raikes on July 10, 2016.

Don was a “100 percent” farmer and horseman. The “Rafter J” was his brand; hard work and integrity bore his name. He enjoyed being on the farm and his Quarter horses.

Don was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) and the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA).

Survivors include his wife Kaye; children Rita (Jerry) Willis of New Maysville and Allen (Cindy) Jeffries of Crawfordsville; stepchildren Kim (Jim) Cox and Scott (Markanna) White, all of Plainfield; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25 in New Maysville Cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his first wife, Donna. Please wear a mask and observe social distancing.
