A Greencastle man was transported to an Indianapolis hospital after colliding with a utility pole early Sunday morning.

He is also facing a misdemeanor charge and an infraction, with more charges possible.

At 1:27 a.m. Devin A. Myers, 27, Greencastle, was southbound on County Road 150 West in Warren Township when his 1999 GMC Jimmy left the road and hit the utility pole, Deputy Jeffery Freeman reported.

Myers reportedly lost consciousness during the crash.

Operation Life transported Myers to Methodist Hospital for medical evaluation with possible head and other injuries.

Freeman discovered that Myers’ license was suspended. Myers was preliminarily charged with Class A misdemeanor driving with a suspended license with a prior conviction as well as Class A infraction driving without proof of financial responsibility.

Due to the circumstances surrounding the crash, Freeman also requested a drug and alcohol screening at the hospital. Results were pending as of the filing of Freeman’s crash report.

The SUV sustained heavy front end damage and was towed from the scene.
