Mavis Josephine Long

Mavis Josephine Long, 92, of Greencastle, formerly of Fillmore, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020.

Born Jan. 28, 1928 in Monticello, Ky., she was the daughter of Marion and Maude (Gregory) Criswell.

Mavis was a house mother for the Delta Zeta House at DePauw University for several years. She was a member of the Fillmore United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sons, John (Karen) Hill and Dwight (Betsy) Hill; a brother, Kelly Criswell; seven grandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Mavis was preceded in death by her sons, Herbert and David Hill; her husband, Mitch Kelly; her parents; two brothers, James and Willis Criswell; and three sisters, Leva Bell, Lily Anderson and Irene Foster.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the Fillmore Cemetery. Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
