Iola Lee Miller, 91, of Greencastle, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

Iola was born in Greencastle on Sept., 8, 1929, the daughter of Ivan and Flonnie (Smiley) Cook, and was a 1947 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church, and was the only piano player the church had for 79 years, from 1941 to present. She was a secretary for both attorney Rex Boyd and Edna McGuire Boyd before working as a secretary for Jones Elementary School for 25 years.

Survivors include her three children, Brenda Oeding (husband John), Ruthie Amis (husband Jim) and Ray Miller (wife Bonnie); 18 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and three nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 37 years, Raymond Miller Jr.; a brother, Carroll Cook; two grandsons, Daniel and Jason Miller; and three great-grandsons, Ian Amis, Benjamin Amis and Anthony Allen Biggs.

Service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 16 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Joshua Fitzsimmons officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, at the funeral home or one hour prior to service on Friday.
