Trump Parade

Monday, October 12, 2020
Showing out in support of President Donald Trump, a caravan makes its way into Greencastle Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, Trump supporters stood on the south side of the Putnam County Courthouse to greet the parade, which went around the square then back to U.S. 231 South. Making a loop in Brazil and going through Cloverdale, the parade began in Plainfield and ended in Camby.

Word has it there was 800-1000 vehicles involved.

I don't care if you support President Trump or not...

    THAT IS IMPRESSIVE.

I ain't never seen anything like it in my lifetime.

  • If photos and stories can be done of the other protests and rallies, then a single picture with a caption explaining what was going on shouldn’t receive negative comments.

  • Awesome!Great to see the support!

Oh boy. Unfortunately I missed this great display of support for the Covid in Chief.

  • I knew the left would eventually feel compelled to comment. I was impressed with the silence on the Heritage Lake Parade article.

  • Being your typical uneducated, ignorant, and unsophisticated Hoosier redneck, as Greencastle's organizer of the BLM protests has so eloquently stated, I cheer such enthusiasm for my hardworking president.

It's just a casual estimation, but in southern Putnam County, the yard signs for TRUMP seem to outnumber those for Biden at least ten-to-one.

  • Is this obsession with Trump flags related to the banning of the confederate flag? Never seen so many flags for an election before...

-- Posted by Raker on Mon, Oct 12, 2020, at 5:16 PM
  • Raker, the waving of flags by spirited and enthusiastic yet uneducated, ignorant, and unsophisticated Hoosier masses must really go against the grain of the educated, enlightened, and sophisticated DePauw groups that like to wave their MANY signs of protest in anger and depression.

Just curious, but what exactly makes a leftist, socialist, or communist happy?

POSH - I'm not sure what makes a communist socialist happy but I can tell you what will make this liberal very happy and that is watching Drunk Uncle Donny lose by a landslide in November.

    Blue wave is coming.

  • Beware of idiots in large crowds.

  • Another thing I've noticed is the age disparity at these events, seems very generational. Not a good sign for your cause when the majority is seniors, and the majority of your opponent is the future generation.

-- Posted by Raker on Mon, Oct 12, 2020, at 6:00 PM
  • RSOTS, you weren't supposed to answer the question because you possess so many redeemable personality traits.

You might also want to ensure your ticket is refundable in case the BLUE train doesn't stop at your station like it did NOT during the last election/BLUE/Clinton landslide.

And by the way, President Trump is also a drunk? I thought I'd heard all the negatives that could possibly be dumped on the guy, but you believe he is now a drunk, too? Do you think he drinks too much vodka?

-- Posted by Prince of Stardust Hills on Mon, Oct 12, 2020, at 6:14 PM

POSH - As far as I've heard he doesn't drink at all, and I have no reason to disbelieve that at all. It's a comedic reference to that one crazy uncle we all had that would get drunk at Thanksgiving and spout off a bunch of ignorance. Sorry the reference wasn't clear to you.

And yes I'll still be here Blue landslide or not. A feller can dream can't he?

Also congrats are in order for President Trump winning his 4th Nobel Peace Prize as he just claimed in Florida tonight at his super spreader event.

  • I am not a fan of the current President but I would never vote for the leftist candidate. Why?

The hatred of the left is awful and it comes to life in this thread among others.

Like 2016, I will leave the Presidential part of my ballot blank but will vote the rest straight. Why? Not because I necessarily support all the candidates of that party but because I can't afford the hate of the left to have control of all 3 branches.

I actually loved Donnelly but voted against him in 2016 for that reason. I have been in his office and he was a friend to my industry. I made that decision after deep study and observation of the left theology in action in California and multiple cities and hatred I have witnessed from the left.

  • It was a GREAT PATRIOTIC showing.

    -- Posted by tjarboe50 on Mon, Oct 12, 2020, at 11:40 PM
  • This is a great display of patriotic support for our president. These people don’t listen to the bought out media. These people look at how much better all has been in the past four years. People are happier with low unemployment rates and rise in wages. Stocks are doing great even though we have an unfortunate virus we are fighting. The only war we are in right now is against a virus and a deep state that cannot handle success of another party. So when you vote ignore all the propaganda spewed in the media and ask yourself are you better then you were four years ago. That should be your deciding vote.

Raker - there is an old saying:

If you are not a liberal when you are 20, you don't have a heart.

If you are not a conservative when you are 40, you don't have a brain.

Society ebbs & flows with the generations and where youth has exuberance, age has wisdom.

There were two bulls - a young bull and an old bull - sitting on top of a hill in a pasture one day overlooking a herd of cows.

The young bull looks over at the old bull and says enthusiastically, "Y'know, we should run down there and breed* one of those cows!"

The old bull, with a slow turn of his head, looks at the young bull and says, "No. We should WALK down there and breed* ALL of those cows."

Be careful that you don't discount those older than you, Raker.

    *polished for BG standards.

  • RSTOS going the "can I tweak them route". Much easier than philosophical conversation. Leftist theology doesn't hold as well in that arena.

That being said, his/ her comment did crack me up. Thanks for the entertainment.

Beg - there is absolutely zero point in having a "philosophical conversation" in this forum. There isn't going to be any minds changed here so yes I'm left with only the option of laughing at the kool-aid drinking MAGA hat wearing cult followers. But yay law and order.

-- Posted by RSOTS on Tue, Oct 13, 2020, at 5:13 PM
  • During the TRUMP PARADE might have been the perfect time for DePauw to have organized yet another BLM/court house protest. I'm sure the flag-waving, ignorant, uneducated, and unsophisticated, as described by the local BLM protest organizer, generally older Hoosier rednecks in the parade would have greatly benefited from an interaction with a much younger and far more knowledgeable university crowd who might also have enlightened the senior flag-wavers on their unabashed bigotry and racism. It was definitely a missed opportunity.

-- Posted by Prince of Stardust Hills on Tue, Oct 13, 2020, at 6:15 PM
  • So you are a closed minded person? You will only have conversation if you can change someone’s mind? That has been my experience when trying to discuss issues with someone that leans to the left. Appreciate your honesty. Really do. That being said- Your assumption is wrong as I am open to listening, evaluating, and then make a decision. My mind has changed on issues over time. Death Penalty would be one of those.

-- Posted by beg on Tue, Oct 13, 2020, at 6:50 PM

Beg - I'm a lot of things but close minded isn't one but good job on twisting my statement to the opposite of what I said.

And you seemed very "open to listening, evaluating and then make a decision" with this statement you made in an earlier post "but I would never vote for the leftist candidate."

So ease up on being so close minded before you start grading others.

-- Posted by RSOTS on Tue, Oct 13, 2020, at 7:07 PM
  • You are correct on the leftist candidates. Finding a specific situation where I am not open is easy to do but in the entire picture, would not be a true statement. Doesn't mean I don't change my opinion. And I am open to the conversation for someone to share why I should be open. All people, including open minded people, have positions they believe in and feel passionate about. I am confident you would agree. That doesn't mean they are a closed minded person. It could mean they have gotten to that position based on doing their research, looking at different perspectives and then coming to a position. It also doesn't mean that the position won't change. I made a decision to leave the presidential part of my ballot blank. Make me close minded?

Not sure how I twisted your words.

Beg - there is absolutely zero point in having a "philosophical conversation" in this forum. There isn't going to be any minds changed here

That clearly infers you don't believe you will change any minds and you aren't going to have yours changed.

I will take you at your word that isn't what you meant to convey.

-- Posted by beg on Tue, Oct 13, 2020, at 7:57 PM

Oh beg - if you wanna call me close minded because I don't believe that I'm going to change the mind of the truck driving flag flying MAGA cult members then so be it.

-- Posted by RSOTS on Tue, Oct 13, 2020, at 9:28 PM
  • How can anyone with morals actually support Trump? And who in their right mind would say this country is in a better state than it has been?

I believe in equality for all. I also believe science is real, it is not magic. Black lives matter. It seems so basic to those of us that have a heart and any sort or empathy for those around us.
