County Jail

Eleven people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 8:06 p.m. Jerod A. Gruenholz, 46, Fillmore, was lodged at the jail for fraud and theft.

• At 2:59 p.m. Jason L. Jones, 41, Greencastle, was taken into custody for possession of a narcotic drug, possession of a synthetic drug or lookalike, possession of paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.

Saturday

• At 9:07 p.m. Megan S. Watson, 29, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and on warrants from Clay County and Johnson County.

Friday

• At 3:07 p.m. Bobby J. Hood II, 27, Greencastle, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 5:16 a.m. Jeremy L. King, 37, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for domestic battery.

Thursday

• At 4:36 p.m. Amilia N. Faucett, 26, Cloverdale, was taken into custody for unlawful possession of a syringe and visiting a common nuisance.

• At 3:58 p.m. James D. Flatt, 36, Bainbridge, was housed at the jail for alteration of handgun identifying marks, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, false informing and driving with a suspended license with a prior conviction.

• At 3:57 p.m. Roy M. Kelly, 49, Spencer, was booked in for driving a vehicle after forfeiture of license for life.

• At 12:05 p.m. Rebecca S. Bruner, 40, Brazil, was lodged at the jail on a warrant.

• At 11:12 a.m. John R. Sanders, 37, Coatesville, was taken into custody on a court order.

• At 9:11 a.m. Cory E. Smith, 35, Crawfordsville, was housed at the jail for counterfeiting and identity deception.

Sheriff’s Office

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Justin B. Homler, 47, Greencastle, was westbound on Albin Pond Road when a deer ran into the side of his 2013 Chrysler.

Deputy Robert Soilleux estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to seven recent dispatches:

• At 3:36 p.m. last Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to Breadworks for a smoke alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:38 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was reset. GFD left at 3:41 p.m.

• At 2:59 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 809 Draper St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:03 p.m. and were advised that the alarm was accidentally set off, but could not be turned off. GFD shut down the alarm and reset it. GFD went back into service at 3:13 p.m.

• At 8:43 p.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at 1715 N. CR 175 West. Units arrived on the scene at 8:52 and removed the passenger, while the driver was transported. GFD went back into service at 9:24 p.m.

• At 11:26 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to 8 Beveridge St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:29 and were advised that the alarm was accidental, and that it had already been reset. GFD went back into service at 11:32 a.m.

• At 1:31 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Marvin’s for fluid cleanup. Firefighters arrived soon after and were advised that a stump grinder leaked gas after being tipped over. The gas was cleaned up, and GFD went back into service at 1:49 p.m.

• At 4:46 p.m. on Saturday, GFD responded to a field fire located at 12673 S. CR 425 West near Reelsville. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 5:10 p.m. and assisted the Reelsville Volunteer Fire Department with extinguishing the fire. GFD went back into service at 6:36 p.m.

• At 2:05 p.m. on Sunday, GFD responded to a field fire located at 1499 S. CR 275 East. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 2:26 and had the fire controlled by 2:45. GFD went back into service at 2:50 p.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed nine medical assists and had two disregards.
