GCSC awarded GEER grant for internet access assistance

Thursday, October 22, 2020

Greencastle Community Schools was recently announced as a recipient of a Governor’s Education Emergency Relief (GEER) grant.

The school corporation has been awarded funds to purchase internet options for those currently lacking access.

Families who reside in the footprint of Xfinity service can be provided with 14 months of Xfinity service at no cost. Those who live outside of Xfinity’s service area may qualify for 12 months of service on a mobile hot spot provided by T-Mobile or Verizon.

Any family who currently lacks internet and has a child enrolled at GCSC is encouraged to complete the application form by visiting https://tinyurl.com/GEER2021.

If applicants are unable to access the web-based form, they may visit the Putnam County Public Library (a GEER grant partner) to use a computer or call the GCSC building of their oldest child and have a secretary complete the form for them.

Successful applicants will be notified in the near future.
