Aker told Officer Nick Eastham that she stopped at the stopsign on Tacoma Drive and thought the intersection was an all-way stop before puling into the path of Lamon.

Total damage was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

Sheriff’s Office

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated four recent property-damage crashes.

• At 8:12 p.m. on Saturday, Tracy G. Collins, 28, Staunton, was eastbound on U.S. 40 near County Road 325 West in a 2014 Hyundai Sonata when she hit a deer.

• At 10:44 a.m. on Friday, Connie L. Clark, 44, Greencastle, was eastbound on County Road 250 North in a 2002 Kia Sephia. Thomas H. Graffis, 89, Greencastle, was westbound in a 2015 Subaru Outback.

The two vehicles sideswiped each other as they passed.

Deputy Helmer cited Clark for driving without financial responsibility.

Damage was estimated at $10,000-$25,000.

• At 5:55 a.m. on Friday, Luke J. Skelton, 23, Cloverdale, was pulling out of a driveway at 4272 E. CR 500 South in a 2014 International WorkStar registered to Jack’s Trash Service. Danny H. Fisher, 67, Fillmore, was westbound approaching the location in a 2020 Chevrolet Spark.

Deputy Brian Helmer noted that the road is hilly and it is difficult to see westbound vehicles.

As Skelton pulled out to turn east, Fisher came over the hill. Skelton told Deputy Helmer it appeared Fisher was traveling at a high rate of speed. Fisher later told Helmer he was traveling 45 mph. Helmer did not see marks on the road to check measurements on speed.

Fisher put his vehicle in the ditch to avoid hitting the truck.

Fisher told Helmer he was not okay, advising he had neck, leg and back pain. He told Helmer that after the medics checked him out, he would drive himself to Putnam County Hospital.

On arrival at the hospital, Fisher realized his radiator was leaking, so the car was towed from that location.

Skelton and his passenger were not injured.

Helmer estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.
