IN THE KNOW: GHS moves to online tickets

Greencastle High School has announced it will not sell tickets at the door for all winter sports during the 2020-21 school year.

The school will also not sell winter sports passes for the 2020-21 school year.

Starting with its home girls’ basketball game against Western Boone Nov. 5, Greencastle will post a link to GoFan through its social media channels. Fans may purchase tickets through the service in order to attend games this winter.

Tickets for Friday’s football sectionals can be purchased in the following ways:

At Greencastle: Tickets are purchasable at the gate. The gates open at 6 p.m.

At South Putnam: Tickets are purchasable at the gate. The gates open at 6 p.m.

There is a limit of 700 spectators in attendance and tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.

At Western Boone: Tickets must be purchased online. The link to buy tickets is located on Western Boone’s social media channels.

Cash will not be accepted at the gate. No transaction limits are currently in place.

Thomas earns coaching honor

Greencastle wrestling head coach Shane Thomas was honored by being named IHSWCA Regional Head Coach of the Year this week.

Thomas led the Tiger Cubs to a WIC title in the 2019-20 season as well as a tie for third at the Avon Sectional and a sixth-place finish at the Mooresville Regional.

The award is voted upon by fellow coaches at each IHSAA Wrestling Regional.
