More than a handshake

Landowners and farmers can learn more about different types of farmland leases, legal aspects of leases and leasing trends by participating in the Purdue University Extension virtual workshop More Than a Handshake.

Many times, lease terms must be negotiated that match expectations for both landlords and tenants. The Purdue Land Lease Team has developed this program that addresses many questions concerning land leases.

This virtual workshop will be offered at two different times, including Thursday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to noon and Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Presenters include Purdue Extension educators and an attorney, who specializes in preparing lease contracts.

• The workshop will cover:

• Land values and trends

• Types of leases

• Components of leases and communication

• Legal aspects of leases

The registration fee for this workshop is $25. Individuals wanting to participate in this virtual workshop can sign up at https://www.cvent.com/d/q7qdjr.
